the week {Feb 29-March 7}

I'm still in a period of waiting for a test. When you have to rely on insurance companies to authorize whether you need a test or not, it gets frustrating just because you are having to wait and rely on end result of that decision. Hopefully I will know something this week. 
I've been thinking lately that I want to share my journey and bring awareness to my disease, but I also don't want to be defined by my disease. It's a fine line isn't it? The disease will always be a part of my life and at times, a major part of my life (like right now.) I knew so very little about this disease before I was diagnosed, and I'm still learning about it. It is basically my body turning on itself and it wreaks such havoc. 

Last Monday evening, our Sunday school class hosted a baby shower for one of our ladies who is due with a sweet little boy very soon!

I made some blondies to take to the shower. So yummy!

I also bought the Pioneer Woman plate at Walmart and used it! Isn't it so pretty?!

Tuesday was a full day for me. 

This sweet cat came in before I started my day and she stayed in ALL day!

I had Bible study, lunch with my church mentor, and Tuesday folders.

Tim took the kids to a choir concert at his school that night. They love going to school events with him!

I'm doing a study on Ruth in my Tuesday morning study and I'm enjoying it so much. The book of Ruth is such a great book in the Bible.

The kids can get their devices close together and play in the same "world" in Minecraft. It is one of their favorite things right now.

Sorry for the cat overload. I just love these girls though :-)

On Wednesday, I met with the 5th grade girl that I'm mentoring. She is such a sweet girl and I'm enjoying each visit that we have.

The kids had Awana that night. 

The next day, we planted B Boy's cabbage plant. The 3rd grade do this project every year to see how big they can grow their cabbage plants. C Girl participated last year, but her plant got pulverized in a hailstorm. We are hoping for better results this time!

Tim had a meeting and got to come home a little early that day! We love having extra time with him- especially when the weather is so nice!

And somehow, they talked me into going to Sonic to get ice cream before bedtime that night! They were thrilled!

Friday night was B Boy's first baseball practice of the season! He is playing with 9 and 10 year olds this season. The practices are longer and they are now playing with live arm! It's going to be a really fun season!

On Saturday, we took the kids and went to our first Razorback baseball game!

The weather was amazing and we had a lot of fun!

We grabbed supper at Whataburger and then headed to another baseball practice for the boy!

Sunday was a typical day with our normal activities. Monday was a busy afternoon going from piano lessons to another baseball practice. B Boy did great and even got to pitch! 

We don't have another practice for a week so we get a little break after what feels like a marathon of practicing!

weekly update

It has been such a full week.

Last Tuesday night, some girls from our Sunday school class met at the home of Susan Goss to have a discussion about prayer.

On Wednesday, I had my quarterly labs to check the status of inflammation in my body. I also had them add celiac labs because I still have been experiencing a few issues. 

My inflammation was dramatically down and I do not have celiac! However, I am having more trouble with lactose intolerance than I had previously thought.

It was also the last regular night of Awana for the kids! B Boy finished his 3rd book in 3 years so he will get the Sparky award! I know C Girl is getting an award too but not sure what it is called!

B Boy had a soccer game on Thursday night. His team won and had a great time!

C Girl had her first tennis lesson on Friday afternoon. It went great and she had a lot of fun!

B Boy had a baseball game that night. He got to score on his first time up to bat! So fun!

The school was also having an art auction Friday evening. C Girl's class was performing at it, so we left the boy's game a little early and headed over to that. They did a cute little performance and we "adopted" the kiddos' pet rocks.

We had a crazy storm come through on Friday night. It became stationary and hailed for 10 solid minutes! It obliterated C Girl's cabbage plant that she was growing for school :-(

On Saturday, B Boy's games were rained out so we were able to leave earlier to go to Ft. Smith to celebrate my SIL's birthday. It ended up being a beautiful day!

We had such a great time! We shopped, had dinner, and even hopped in a casino to play penny machines for a few minutes- that was definitely interesting!

Sunday was a rough day all around, but I did manage to take a few spring pictures of the kids at a local park. Sunday was also my cat, Sissy Girl's 12th birthday!!!

Yesterday, I took B Boy to the ENT to once again be evaluated for sleeping issues. He will be getting his tonsils removed this fall :-(

I had an appointment at the dentist yesterday afternoon because I chipped one of my bonded teeth last week.

Weekly update - first week of June

Thank you all so much for your comments and messages that I received after my post on Privacy.

It's weird, but I actually feel more freedom now that I've set the blog to private.

I do wish that there was a way to easily let everyone know when I publish a new post. As of now, it no longer feeds to readers and when I put the link on Facebook, it shows a generic "Blogger.com" picture. Any ideas?

 I had lunch at Sushi House with my friend, Laurie, on Wednesday. It was yummy and so fun to get to visit for awhile!

I'm truly not a "lady who lunches," but I had lunch on Thursday with my dear friend, April, at Olive Garden. I think I was trying to get some friend time in before school is out!

 Thursday evening, our Sunday school class had a baby shower for Christi. She is having a sweet boy in August! We ate at Abuelo's and I am so obsessed with the green dip there. So good!

 I have failed to mention, I think, but B Boy is super into Pokemon cards! He trades with boys at school and every single day after school, he has to tell me about his new ones!

 I made sesame chicken the other night and I made the Pioneer Woman's cauliflower stir fry. I omitted the Sriracha though. So yummy!

I watched the Walmart Shareholder's meeting on Friday morning. It was VERY neat to watch. They had awesome musical performances and it was very cool to hear from CEO's in the company.

 Friday night was First Friday on our square. It was also the annual Art Walk. I love, love, love our First Fridays and farmer's market. 

There were so many talented artists with booths!

 We had to make a stop into the Walton's 5-10.

They always want to buy every toy in there!

They LOVE to run up and then down the ramp and stairs. I'm so glad they can be easily entertained!

 We had B Boy take a photo of us with the big camera. He did a pretty decent job! It would be great if C Girl hadn't been giving me bunny ears o_o

 B Boy had a game today. He had a great hit (with his new bat!) and he had a RBI! He got one of the game balls today. He was thrilled and we are so proud of him!

We are mostly proud of how much he loves baseball and how hard he wants to work at it.
