I'm glad for more sunshine and warmer weather, but man! This year seems to be flying by!
Secondly, I thought I would update on how my reading is going. I started a read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year on June 1st last year. It started with the NT and now, I'm in the OT. I just finished up the book of Psalms this morning. I love that book! I'm almost halfway through Les Miserables now. I'm having a hard time finding time to read it along with the Bible, Bible study, Sunday school reading, and a book I'm reading on IBS. I guess slow, but sure wins the race!
So, now on to the weekend.
Friday, C Girl received a Leader of the Pack award for adding more details to her writing! We are so proud of how hard she is working! She gets to have lunch with her principals!
Friday night, we had planned a homemade pizza, brownies and game night! We played Sorry (the kid's and Tim's favorite kid game right now) and Scrabble Jr. After the kids went to bed, Tim and I watched a movie together.
Saturday was a kind of day we rarely have. We only relaxed at home and did not go anywhere! We played out in the backyard some and just hung out together.
Sunday, we went to church, ran to Walmart, I made snacks for the week, and relaxed even more! We have all had allergy/sinus issues going on, so it was very nice to have a low-key weekend!
During church, our worship leader led us in Chris Tomlin's song, Whom shall I fear?
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind me
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
Wow. To hear the words, and to think upon the fact that the God who reigns forever, that He is a friend of mine is nothing short of awe inspiring.
Lyrics:
You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear
You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
You are faithful
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear
You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
You are faithful
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm on my way to the Revenue office (boo) and then Parent/teacher conferences and a haircut! I'm so ready to get my hair trimmed and get these split ends under control! AND only 5 days until Spring Break!!!
I've started the Bible at the beginning. It is slow going, but I want to do more than just skim the words. Fascinating stuff and I'm only in Genesis!
ReplyDeleteIt's VERY fascinating!
