Visiting family & Mt. Magazine

Hi!  Things are a little busy around here-  the kiddos start school THIS Thursday!
We are attending a year round school now, so we start earlier, go longer, BUT get lots of breaks throughout the year.  I think we are really going to love it!

Needless to say, I have been doing lots of things to get ready and organized.  AND, we have been trying to enjoy our few days of summer break that we have left.

Last week we spent 4 days with my sister in law and BFF, aka Aunt Jessica.  We had a great time!!!  I love, love, love spending time with her and soaking up time with my little nephew Parker.

On Wednesday, we ventured up to Mt. Magazine.  I've been up there many times, but the views never get old!  We visited the Lodge, the visitor's center, Cameron's bluff and drove around other areas near there.
 Nothing sweeter than cousin love!
Checking out the view from the Lodge.
We also saw quite a few deer!

 Selfies, of course.
We also went to the Johnson County Peach Festival, ate at Dari Delite (cherry vanilla Mt. Dew-holla), and visited with my mom and dad!

Fun with Family Part 2

I have to start with a funny story.

We went to Coldstone Creamery tonight after dinner.
We were all eating our ice cream on the patio there, and B Boy had finished his and was running around.

He ran by Jessica and asked her, "have you ever seen diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid?"
We all kind of laughed thinking that we had heard him wrong.
She asked him to repeat it and he said the same thing again.
We then asked him if he thought it was "Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid" and he said yes!

Oh my gosh, we were about to fall out of our chairs!!!
We told him the real title and he said, "ohhhh." It was hilarious!

We loaded up and drove to Gentry to the Wild Wilderness Safari this morning.
It is the absolute coolest place.
The drive thru part is 4 miles and has so many animals to see.

It was also Jessica and Parker's first time.
We always get visitors right up at the windows!
There are just so many animals and I could show so many pictures, but I just picked a few highlights.

We went and did the "zoo" part after the driving part.
They have areas that you can go into and pet animals and there are other animals that you can view in cages or fenced areas.
I love seeing animals and their babies!!! There were a lot of babies to see this time.
They have peacocks that roam around all over the park.  They are breathtaking.
We ate at Gentry's local pizza place, Pioneer Pizza, for lunch.  It was very good and the prices were great too!  We even saw a friend from church while we were there!

We let the kids play outside in the yard together this afternoon.  We love to watch C Girl and B Boy playing with Parker. It's the greatest!

It was a great, fun day full of memories!

Fun with Family

We have Aunt Jessica and cousin Parker staying with us right now!  They got here Saturday and we have been having SO much fun!

Saturday, we all just hung out at the house and visited and played.  All of the kids played in the sprinkler in the backyard.  It's just so much fun to see my kiddos playing with their little cousin.

Sunday was Father's Day.  It is so fun having the kid's pick out Tim's card and gifts.  B Boy picked out the BIGGEST card ever for him.  Tim loved his card and gifts!
I made bacon and french toast for breakfast for everyone.  It was so good, if I must say so myself!

Afterwards, we loaded up to go to Lake Atalanta to play in the creek and have a picnic.  Tim was excited to go fishing again!
The kids all had a blast playing in the creek together!
We even played on the playground a bit!
We all loved the cheesy puffcorn puffs that we brought along!
Tim caught about a dozen fish.  He was loving his relaxing time.
He did say that when B Boy first tried casting his line, he accidentally threw the entire pole in the lake! Tim had to fish it out!
We also fed the ducks and geese.
C Girl usually loves this, but she did not want to be a part of it.
She screamed and jumped back into the van!
Today has been a rainy, lazy day.
We did make a quick trip to the library and then came back and baked cookies!
Perfect and yummy rainy day activity!
Parker was mixing stuff up too!
