eagle watching

In January, Tim, the kids and I drove out to Gentry to the Eagle Watch Nature Trail to go bird watching.
We were on a mission to see eagles.
This is something I have wanted to do all my life.  I had never seen an eagle in the wild before.
The trail did not disappoint. As soon as we got out of the van and looked up, we saw eagles overhead, circling.
It was majestic.
We walked the trail and came to a pavilion.
We sat there for quite a while and watched as eagles flew in and out of the lake area.
We were joined by folks watching and even some amateur photographers.
My pictures are not the best because we were far away from the eagles and I don't have a telephoto zoom lens yet.
I will never forget this day.
It was so awesome to go and enjoy nature and witness our nation's bird, the bald eagle.
These birds are only in Arkansas during mainly December and January and I plan on going to witness them every year.

  1. So cool! The Dudes would love to see some eagles in real life. We have tons of vultures around here. They look disgusting.
