Cannonball Read- Book 40
This book is beautifully written and gives such an inside view of being a geisha. Like most Westerners, I had the completely wrong idea of what being a geisha meant. Not only did I learn how it really it is, I learned so much about Japan and its customs and people during the thirties, forties and fifties.
I was so wrapped up in the story of a girl and the events that happen in her life. It is a masterpiece of a book. I don't want to say much more about it. It is wonderful and I highly recommend it.
