Attempting Beef Bourguignon

This weekend I tried a new recipe. After watching the movie, Julia and Julie, I was enticed to try beef bourguignon. It is a well known, traditional French recipe. It is a stew with beef braised in red wine and beef broth, generally flavored with onions, garlic and thyme. Mushrooms are also added in. After simmering for 2-3 hours, it is served over noodles. This recipe was delicious. I love the flavoring the spices gave it, and the meat was sooo tender! I used stew meat pieces, but you could also use a roast of larger piece of meat. We ate this over egg noodles, but any noodle will do! We will definately be making this again!
