Disney World Day 2 {Animal Kingdom}

After getting to the resort late and getting to bed late, we were tired on Sunday morning!

Our first to visit on the park was Animal Kingdom!

We arrived shortly after the park opened and headed to Kilimanjaro Safaris.(Definitely get to parks early; there are very short to no waits for the first couple of hours!)
This was neat driving through and getting to be really close to the animals!
We saw lots of animals and they are not caged up or enclosed like at a zoo- not even the lions!
One really cool thing was getting to see a pile of ostrich eggs out in the open!

Next, we walked through Africa and then found Kali River Rapids! It was probably our favorite ride of the day. We got DRENCHED!!!

Next, Tim had his eye on the big ride- Expedition Everest.
This, my friends, is a roller coaster.
And for my husband, I went on it- my first roller coaster experience
What can I say about that?
It was scary.
I kept telling myself that it would be over soon!
I can't imagine going on a coaster that takes you upside down, because this one was enough for me! I'm glad I did it though. As for our 5 & 6 year olds- they were glad they went on it, but they definitely did not want to ride it again! B Boy and I both felt like crying at the end of it, lol! I won't go in to detail about the ride in case you want to experience it for yourself!

Next, we visited Dinoland, where we had lunch and rode a little ride. It is a carnival style place. We did not do the Dinosaur ride for lack of time.

After that, we headed to Camp Minnie Mickey. We were headed over there to watch The Festival of The Lion King show.
On the way, we found the greeting trails where you could meet some characters! There was the Chipmunks, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse.
We only had time to stand and wait to see one, so we chose Mickey!
The kids were so very excited! He signed their autograph books, they hugged him and got their picture made with him! It was truly how memories are made!

There are so many things to do and see at the parks. Between shows, rides, attractions, parades and fireworks, it is hard to determine what is your favorite thing!

After meeting Mickey, we saw the Lion King show. It is awesome! The costumes, characters, singing, dancing, and acrobats- oh my!
Of course, for me, it was really special because the movie came out when I was a kid and it has always been one of my very favorite movies!

We were hot and tired by this point, so we headed back to the resort to relax and then eat dinner. After dinner, we all headed for one of the many pools at just our resort. (This place is huge!) we swam until dark, showered and went to bed!
