Christmas 2011

I love Christmas. I love Christmas break.  Amen.

Our little girlie still felt yucky even up till Christmas Eve.  We were talking about taking her to the doctor if she was still feeling yucky on Christmas.  Thankfully, she has bounced back.  4 days with a sick child is no fun.
But, we made the best of it.

Right now, our house is a complete mess. I have never seen it this bad. That's what happens when you have 3 Christmases!  We incorporate the "3 gifts for each child because Jesus received 3 gifts" tradition.  However, they get so much stuff from family members!

Tim and I had a really great Christmas this year.  He finally got something he has been wanting for years.  He got a new Martin guitar.  He also got a Willie Nelson album for his iTunes library that he has been dying to have.  I had a very "camera" themed Christmas.  Tim bought me a new lens for my camera and a camera bag!  Both of my SIL's got me camera gifts as well, a new strap cover and an "eye-fi" memory card!

We did our usual Christmas traditions- looking at Christmas lights before Christmas, making yummy sweets and snacks, making a yummy breakfast dish(cinnamon rolls!), having our seafood feast on Christmas Eve, reading the Bible story before bed on Christmas Eve, reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve, setting out milk and cookies for Santa and Tim and I "playing Santa" after the kiddos went to bed.

Christmas Day is pretty hectic for us.  We do our Christmas morning at home and then we drive 2 1/2 hours to have Christmas with Tim's family.  We had a great time there.  We had a great, huge meal, the kids opened presents and we all played Dirty Santa.  I came away with a cute Razorback beanie!
Then, we drove another hour to have Christmas at my mom and dad's house.  This one is always a little more tiring because it is the end of the day.  Mom wanted to have a big dinner too and none of us were that hungry!  I appreciate her going to so much trouble, but next year we are just going to have appetizers and desserts, MUCH easier!  She was just trying to be a good host!
I did get to love on both of my sweet baby nephews! Noah baby is so fun right now!
After all that, we then had a two hour drive back home!  I think we had a great day and 10:30 wasn't too too late to be getting home!  It was just awesome to get to see all our family!
Isn't this face what Christmas is all about?!---
I hope you and yours had a very Merry Christmas!
