Wordless Wednesday {Writing out Valentine's cards}

One day at a time

That is how I feel that life has been lately.

I had sick kiddos last weekend through the beginning of last week.  It completely threw me off to have kids home from school on Monday and Tuesday.

The rest of the weeknights were busy, Wednesday night with church, Thursday night with Tim having ball game duty and Friday night, I went to a women's conference at my church (which was so very, very good, by the way).

Friday, I had the kickoff for our school fundraiser, and a meeting after school to discuss with a company the item that we are purchasing for the school that we are raising all of this money for!

Saturday morning we got up at the butt crack of dawn (no, I don't think I'll ever stop using that phrase) to have a moving sale. Despite it being February and a little cold, we had a very nice turnout.  The remaining items were loaded up Saturday afternoon and dropped off at Goodwill.

Yesterday, I had grand plans to go to church and then have a nice afternoon.  However, I woke up with a terrible headache, so we stayed home from church.  I always hate missing on Sunday mornings.  I look forward to that worship time and I look forward to learning and fellowship in our Sunday school class.

We did get out in the afternoon to shop a bit.  I desperately needed a new pair of jeans and I ALWAYS have such a hard time finding jeans for myself!  I did have luck and found a cute pair at Old Navy that will do for now.

I asked around on Twitter about where everyone buys their jeans.  Everyone had a different answer, but I got some great ideas about where to look in the future!

So here we are at Monday morning.  My days are full this week with the fundraiser and getting everything completely ready to move.  We close on Friday!!!!!
We are hoping to move enough stuff over Friday and Saturday that we can start sleeping there on Saturday night!

AND, it's also Valentine's Week.  Valentine's seems to be swallowed up in all of this madness, but we love this week!  I cannot wait to give the kiddos their little Valentine's goodies!!!

My Valentine

I know that I could write about my kids and the fun things we did for Valentine's and what they got for Valentine's, but today and every year, is all about Tim and I.  He is my Valentine.

Valentine's Day was never too big of a deal in my life before I met Tim. Sure, I had had boyfriends and they probably got me stuff on Valentine's Day, but never have I ever been made to feel as special as Tim makes me feel.  Sometimes, I don't feel like I even deserve the love that he shows me.
We have been through many things since we have been married, but he has been by my side through it all.  I tell him everything, probably more than he wants to know for sure!
We have fun together.  I love playing cards and games with him, watching movies with him, going to dinner with him.
I love that he shows love to me in front of our children.  In our Bible Study, a quote was read recently- the best thing parents can do for their children is to have a healthy marriage.
And we have one and I feel so, so blessed.
He is the most wonderful father.  I wish all kids could have a daddy as great as Tim.  He usually has so much patience with the kids.  He spends time with them. He loves on them.  They truly feel special.
Long ago(!) at the start of our relationship, he started "Valentine's Week." He starts a week before Valentine's and just gets little cards or notes to give to me every day that week.  It's so special and I have saved every little one of them. They mean so much to me.  The words he writes on them to me, showing his love for me are worth so much.
I pray already that both of the kiddos find someone who truly loves them and knows how to show it.  Of course I pray for other traits as well, but I want them to feel loved and to show love.
I hope I show Tim how much he means to me even half as well as he shows me.
I am so very thankful for my Valentine.

First Snow Day of 2012!

The weather people have been predicting today for about a week, but we were always unsure how much snow we would get and if we would be out of school.  Since the kiddos have not yet had any snow to play in this year and I really wanted a day off too, I was praying hard for a snow day!

Thank you Jesus for answered prayers!
The kids are having SUCH a blast today!
However, please say a prayer for Tim.  He is very sick today.

We started off with a Valentine's breakfast since we had a leisurely morning today:
After breakfast, it was time to get bundled up to head out for the snow!!!
The birds were everywhere! Of course we threw seed out for them!
Snow Day FUN!!!!

Catching Up...

We had a really great weekend this past weekend.  We spent Saturday visiting with my brother's and their families and my mom and dad.
On Sunday, we went to the home of our Sunday School teachers for a class Super Bowl Party!
Sunday night was a rough night here, so Monday everyone was extremely tired.  I did get good news at the dentist- I'm on the road to getting my braces off! Woohoo! This month is 4 years that I have been wearing them!
Yesterday, I skipped my weekly Bible Study to spend some one on one time with B boy :-) We had fun.
Today begins Tim and I's tradition of "Valentine's Week." I've already found a sweet little note from him!
Friday night, we are going out to dinner to celebrate Valentine's together.  We are trying out a new restaurant downtown and I can't wait!
And on Saturday, Tim is gonna watch the kiddos so I can go have girl time with a couple of friends and see The Vow. It looks like such a good girlie movie!
Here are some pictures from Saturday (most are of us holding babies!!!)-----
