A Christmas Parade & a Christmas Party

Well, I really haven't written much lately have I?

Last week, I spent Monday cleaning up from the holiday and decorating for the Christmas holiday.

Wednesday night, Tim and I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a few more things for Christmas- hence the new deco mesh Christmas wreath!

Friday night was PNO, so we had ourselves a little date.  We went to Shogun for sushi and then Krispy Kreme for donuts! Then we came home and watched a movie.  It was a nice relaxing time.

Saturday morning was the Bentonville Christmas Parade.  We thought it was going to rain, but the rain held off.  It's a really nice and well participated parade. And the kiddos got to meet a few of the Duggar kids! They love the show 19 Kids and Counting (even though it's about to be 20 Kids and Counting!) and they think it is neat that they live by us.
The rest of Saturday was spent cooking and focusing on Football! Our Bentonville Tigers lost the 7A State Championship by 1 point.  Pretty sad.  LSU won the SEC championship and Oklahoma State won Bedlam.

Sunday we went to our church's annual Hanging of the Green service.  Families in the church help bring in decorations during the service and the church choir, children's choirs and orchestra give an amazing performance!  It's a wonderful service that emphasizes preparing our hearts for the Advent Season.

Sunday afternoon/evening was our Sunday School Christmas party. We started by meeting at the ice rink at Lawrence Plaza for some ice skating.  It was a blast!
Afterwards, we headed back to the church for dinner and to decorate some ornaments. The ornaments were for a Christmas tree that our class was donating to a needy family in our community.  It was so wonderful to take the tree to them and sing carols to them.  They were so thankful for the tree and I'm so glad that we were able to be a part of blessing that family.  I'm glad that the kiddos were able to participate and begin to learn the meaning of giving.
And then, after all that, we found out that Arkansas was #6 in the BCS and would be playing #8 Kansas State in the ATT Cotton Bowl!!!!  Very exciting season for the Razorbacks this year.  However, I think the BCS needs a few rule changes. Anyone agree?!

I hope you have a wonderful week! I have a lot going on, but it is all good stuff!!!
