Disney World Day 3 {Hollywood Studios & a little Magic Kingdom}

We had a pretty great weekend this weekend. Friday night, we went to an outdoor concert at Orchard's park.  Those are always so fun. Saturday, we had a birthday party to attend and then we just hung out at home. Sunday, we went to church and I was REALLY lazy the rest of the day!

We did not get up quite as early on day 3. Disney World can be very tiring!
We went and ate breakfast at the food court on our resort(we purchased a dining plan with our trip- highly recommend doing that!) and then went to the bus stop to be shuttled to Hollywood studios!!!
B Boy was very excited about this park for two reasons- Toy Story Midway Mania and Star Tours!
We got there and headed straight to the Toy Story ride.
We were at the park a little over an hour after opening and the FastPass return time(I highly recommend getting FastPasses for rides you want to do, even if you wait for the ride first and then come back to ride later) was 3:40-4:40 pm!!!
The wait time for the ride was 60 minutes, but since the wait was in air conditioning, we decided to wait and ride and come back later that afternoon to ride again! The wait ended up being only 50 minutes. The ride was fun and the kids loved it!

Next, we headed over to Star Tours. We lucked out at a good time because our wait was only 10 minutes!
This is one of my favorite rides so far. We are Star Wars fanatics here in the Sparacino household. B Boy is obsessed with the movies!

After that ride, it was time for lunch, so we hopped in a restaurant and got some food(we have not been disappointed by any meals since we have been here!).

The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular started right after we ate and was right next door, so we headed to watch it.
Once again, these are some of my favorite movies- I was in love with Indy as a kid! This show was so cool and all the stunts were real. The kids were so amazed by it!

Up next on the agenda was watching the Beauty and the Beast show
It felt like we had been doing more things geared at the boy, so this was really nice for the girl. I LOVED the show!  And of course, I love the movie as well.
My favorite songs are- Be our guest and Beauty and the Beast. I even teared up at the end!

Since we had gotten a FastPass for Toy Story Mania, we went and rode it again and then did Star Tours again as well! We also saw part of the Pixar character parade!

It was late in the afternoon, but we still wanted to go to Magic Kingdom. We left Hollywood Studios on the bus and it took us to the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. That was fun and quite the experience for the kiddos!

I also have to say that it was July 2nd and we had been out all day and I was so very sweaty! Icky sweaty!

It was AMAZING watching the kids see the Disney castle for the first time(and Tim and I too!)!

The park was CROWDED! We got there for the end of a show at the castle and then we hopped into Liberty square for dinner.
We ate at the Diamond Horseshoe and it was so neat! It was family style and Thanksgiving style foods- right up our alley! Turkey, pork, brisket, stuffing, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, green beans, Mac n cheese, gravy and rolls!

After dinner, we walked into Frontierland a bit and then boarded the steam train that goes around Disney. The kids love, love trains!

We got back off at Main Street USA and secured a spot on the sidewalk for Disney's Electrical Parade. It was SO GREAT! We all loved it so much. That started at 9pm and went for a good 30 minutes.

The Wishes fireworks display was set to start at 10pm. We actually got to follow behind the parade down Main Street and be "in the parade!"

We found a spot near the castle to watch the fireworks. A few minutes before the show, they do "The Memories, The Magic and You" which is a projection video set on the castle.
SO SO neat!!!
The castle changes in different views/colors and they put pictures of people from throughout the day on the castle!
At the beginning of Wishes, Tinkerbell flies from the top of the castle out over part of the park. C Girlie loved that!
The fireworks display was very nice, especially with the castle as a focal point!

After the show, it was like what I imagine NYC is like on New Year's Eve. That place was shoulder to shoulder! We finally made our way out and to the bus. It was late, but we definitely showered and it felt so good to be clean and in bed!
Darth Vader!!!! B Boy was stoked!
 SO many memories!
Wonderful meal!

  1. Those are some fantastic pictures! So it sounds like there wasn't too much going on at Hollywood Studios...I'm wondering if we should skip it.

    1. We went mainly for the Star Tours and Toy Story Mania rides. And we have a boy. The Beauty and the Beast show was nice, but you do get to meet Belle at Magic Kingdom. There were other shows and rides that we just didn't have time for at Hollywood Studios. We kind of just had to pick and choose what we wanted to do the most. I think you have to do that at every park because there is just so much to do.

    2. I also looked at maps of each of the parks and researched which things were the most popular so that we kind of had an idea of the things we wanted to do at each park.
