I am an avid reader.
I have been for as long as I can remember.
I remember summers when I was younger and it would be too hot to play outside. I would lay on my bed and read and I could finish a book with about 150-200 pages in one afternoon.
My husband has made the comment many times that I "devour" books.
Lately, however, I have had "reader's block." Not to be confused with "writer's block." :-)
I can't seem to really get into reading.
I know, it's shocking to say out loud to myself.
I'm not sure if it is lack of desire, lack of time, or just not picking out good books???
So, have you ever had "reader's block?" How did you come out of it?
Do you have some great book suggestions for me? I would love to get some input from you on some books to snap me out of this!
Yes. I have had reader's block for more than a year. I even tried to start my most favorite series. Nope. Didn't work. (The Witching Hour, by Anne Rice, the first book in the Mayfair Saga) Things getting in my way are Facebook, family, chores, business planning, research for marketing, and sleep.
ReplyDeleteRead Same Kind Of Different As Me, it's Christian non fiction. I love Christian fiction books by Randy Singer and Robert Whitlow.
ReplyDeleteI did read Same Kind of Different as Me! It was great! I love Robert Whitlow too. I just need to get a good book to get me out of this rut! I'm going to the library today and hopefully I will find "the one!"
ReplyDeleteI'm hosting a reading over at my blog. We're reading Light in August by Faulkner. It's a heavier book but so worth it!
