Ramblings on a hot day

It is so hot here.  Like late July kinda hot. We even had a "special weather statement" for our area that was for "unseasonably hot weather to develop by late week."

It is about 90 degrees right now and tomorrow is supposed to be around 91 degrees.
It is kind of hard to explain to a 4 year old and a 5 year old why I keep referring to summer, when they know that it is still technically spring.

It's no use arguing with them.  So, they call it spring. And while I know it is technically spring, if it is above 90 degrees, in my book- that is summer.

We had a friend over to swim in our new little pool today.
My kids were quite the fun companions.
Cranky and crying was the tone of the playdate from my two.
Sigh.

This afernoon we went to get some groceries.
We were hot and tired after the trip and it was after 2pm.

You know what that means....Sonic happy hour!
Hellooooo watermelon slush!

I think it is only going to be in the 80's next week.
Why can't it be 75 and sunny?!

  1. We're expecting a high of 56 today. I don't know who has it worse. This has been one of the coldest, wettest springs on record and most of Seattle is on suicide watch.
