This past Sunday, our church celebrated the sanctity of life.
Psalm 139:13-16 (New International Version)
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
This is not where I am begin ranting and raving about pro-choice this, pro-life that. Honestly, I believe what the Bible says. That is what I believe and what I try to live. I really hate that people who consider themselves Christians are labeled "Jesus freaks" and "Bible thumpers" and "Holy rollers." I'm a person who has beliefs just like everyone else. However, I'm not trying to impose my beliefs on you. Although, I believe what I believe, you don't have to believe it too. I do however, want to show you why I believe as I do. To show you the great love that draws me in. I don't wish to condem you, but to love you. I don't ever believe that someone is going to want what I have if I am judging them or making them feel bad. I am just as guilty of sin as they are.
What I want to say is that God is a loving God and God is a forgiving God. Those who have made those choices in the past that were not right, they can come to God and all will be forgiven. I ask for forgiveness nearly every day. I am so not perfect. We are all sinners. But, God loves us no matter what. No matter if you made a mistake when you were younger and had an abortion, God forgives. To me, that is amazing.
So please know, we may not believe the same things, but I still love you. And God definitely still loves you. I pray that I show God's love through my actions and my life. And when someone asks me about this love, I pray that God will lead me to what to say. Because even though you don't have to believe what I do, I still want to share it with you. And hopefully, you will be drawn in to that great love also.
